Course will take place at Miami Dade College, Wolfson Campus
Author Kristi Cook will guide student writers through the building blocks of creative writing by covering topics to include, effective world-building; creating memorable characters; plot structure; opening with a bang; writing dialogue that shines; meaningful point-of-view; and much more.
By using both interactive exercises and writing prompts, the student writers will gain practice using the skills explored, and will also learn to utilize thoughtful criticism to improve their writing.
Please note: This workshop is ONLY for teen writers who will be enrolled in high school next year (grades 9-12). Students are expected to attend ALL FOUR sessions.
