The classes are usually 1-5 hours long and allow you and the instructor to examine, in depth, a specific craft issue, these could be plot, poetic forms, the mystery novel, etc. Many writers take a class to see if they are interested in a specific form, or to gather the tools to make the leap into a new area of the genre they usually write in.
