Manuscript Preparation Guidelines
For workshops with Dorothy Allison, Connie May Fowler and Carolina Garcia-Aguilera

Submission Requirements
Whether you are submitting a writing sample for a workshop or for a manuscript consultation, please follow these specifications:

Submit via e-mail as a Microsoft Word attachment to jorden.cunningham@mdc.eduTen pages maximum, each page numbered, set in 12 pt. Times New Roman with 1.5 inch margins.  Your name, phone number, and e-mail address should appear on the first page.

For workshop submissions:
In the subject line of the e-mail, type the name of the workshop for which you are submitting a sample.  In order to give your instructor and your classmates time to review your work, submission must be received NO LATER THAN 5 p.m., April 6 for Dorothy Allison and Connie May Fowler and 5 p.m., April  15 for Carolina Garcia-Aguilera and Sam Freedman.

For manuscript consultations:
Samples should be the first 10 pages of your manuscript.  In the subject line, type:  “Manuscript Consultation” and your last name.  Also, attach a ONE PAGE synopsis of your manuscript in the same format.  In order to give your consultant time to review your work, submissions must be received NO LATER THAN 5 p.m., April 19.

If you have a preference regarding with whom you’d like to meet and when, please state them in the e-mail, otherwise we will assign your work to the consultant we feel is the best match for your work at a time we select.  Consultation slots are finite and assigned first-come-first served.  The sooner we receive your submission, the better chance you’ll have at meeting with your preferred consultant/time slot.  If your consultant’s slots are filled or your preferred time slot(s) are not longer available, we’ll let you know.
