As the economy plummets, the publishing world takes a tumble, too. But how is the recession really affecting publishing industry and what do writers need to know to make sure their careers don’t go the way of the housing market? Seasoned agent Joëlle Delbourgo will analyze the current state of the publishing, dole out recommendations for published and yet-to-be-published authors and make predictions for the months and years ahead.

Joëlle Delbourgo, a former executive with HarperCollins and Random House, is the founder and President of Joëlle Delbourgo Associates Inc., a boutique literary management and publishing consulting company based in New Jersey. The agency cultivates a selective list of authors writing literary fiction, quality commercial fiction and young adult fiction that transcends genre. She holds an M.A. in English and Comparative Literature with Honors from Columbia University, and a B.A. from Williams College.
