If Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret, changed your life, then this seminar is for you! Young Adult publishing is currently experiencing a new golden age, and teen novels are more diverse, edgy, and emotionally compelling than ever. This class focuses on the process of writing for tweens and adolescents, including everything from outlining and plotting, to characterization, authenticity of voice, narrative structure, and, of course, how to revise — fearlessly. Limited to 15 students.
Facilitator
Micol Ostow spent the first eight years of her career as an editor of bestselling teen and tween books with Simon and Schuster, and later, Penguin, focusing mainly on commercial fiction. She has written and/or ghostwritten over 25 works for major houses, including Simon and Schuster, Penguin, and Scholastic.
