Almost no one revises carefully enough. This workshop will concern the necessity of revision in fiction and nonfiction, with particular attention to topic sentences, openings, closings and rhythm in paragraphs. This grammatical engineering will encourage participants to try many ways to improve the story at the level of the sentence, or the word, leading to paragraphs that really sing. Students should bring up to five pages suitable for public consumption and rearrangement. Limited to 15 students.
