This class is intended for students who have taken at least one creative writing class and/or already have a work of fiction in progress. We will build on your foundation of narrative strategies through focused discussions of craft and form, and offer ideas and solutions for developing a work of fiction. Through writing exercises, readings, and discussions students will find inspiration, feedback and support in our workshop forum, and work towards the completion of a project.
Limited to 15 participants.
Patricia Engel has published fiction in Boston Review, Driftwood, Harpur Palate, Nimrod, and Slice Magazine. She is the recipient of the 2008 Boston Review Fiction Prize, a Bread Loaf scholarship, a Florida Artist Enhancement Grant, and fellowships from Hedgebrook, SLS, Vermont Studio Center, and Abroad Writers' Conference. She earned her BA at New York University and her MFA in creative writing at Florida International University.
