The writer John Gardner once said the most important aspect of becoming an author was the sheer act of daily writing. This class allows you to write as well as read very short works of classic and contemporary writers. In-class writing exercises will enable you to apply your imagination to “the page.” Your writing will be shared in a non-threatening, workshop atmosphere. You will also sample the fiction, nonfiction, and poetry of writers such as Anton Chekhov, Annie Dillard, and Yusef Komunyaka. For beginning and intermediate writers.
Limited to 15 participants.
Jeannie DeQuine has written for Time, Newsweek, People, Reuters, and others. She holds an MS from the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism and an MFA from FIU’s creative writing program.
